When it's pizza night at your house, try this Tex-Mex-inspired version. Let the kids help make it.

Prep: 15 min.
Bake: 20 min.
Oven: 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Makes 4 servings

8 ounces lean ground beef and/or bulk pork sausage
1 medium green sweet pepper, chopped
1 package refrigerated corn bread twists (11-1/2 ounces)
1/2 cup salsa
3 cups shredded taco cheese (12 ounces)

Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a medium skillet, cook ground beef and sweet pepper until meat is brown, stirring frequently. Drain off fat. Set aside.

Step 2: Unroll corn bread dough (do not separate into strips). Press dough into the bottom of a greased 12-inch pizza pan, building up edges. Spread salsa over dough. Top with meat mixture and cheese. Bake in the preheated oven about 20 minutes or until bottom of crust is browned. Cut into wedges and serve.
